Khawla Al Falasi, born in Dubai, got her bachelor degree in Architecture from the UAE University of Art and Architecture in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, in 1998. Khawla is a self-taught artist, and after many years of working in and around art, she started her career as advertising designer, art teacher and an art consultant. Finally she devoted herself as a full time Artist and has her own studio.
After years of experiments with various techniques Khawla has become an expertise in hyper-realistic portrait and animal painting, using oil and acrylic colors on canvas. Khawla likes to work on large formats and with brilliant colors. She explains about her work: “Art has always been my passion. Since I was very young, I had the feeling that art was going to be a strong influence in my life, and I wanted to absorb as much as I could. I still strive to learn something new every day.
Among the many creations of God, I am fascinated by Falcons. There is something extraordinary about them. I love the depth in their eyes, their sharp focus, and their strength to soar to amazing heights and their grace as they glide… In fact, Falcons are part of Emirati culture from which I hail. They are our National bird soaring high. Their very existence seems to bring life to my paintings.”
